Mogerman, Kodner Present 2017 Missouri Family Law Update, Cases and Statutes

Cary J. Mogerman and Joseph J. Kodner of the firm presented the 2017 Missouri Family Law Update, Cases and Statutes, to members of the Missouri Bar gathered for the annual meeting of the organization in Kansas City on Thursday, September 14, and again to members of the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis, Family and Juvenile Law Section, in Clayton on Friday, November 17.

The 60 minute presentation included a review of seven new legislative enactments pertaining to family law; a brief discussion of the new iteration of Missouri Form 14 Child Support Guidelines; the potential repeal of the deductibility of alimony pursuant to Section 71 of the Internal Revenue Code under pending federal tax reform legislation; and a detailed discussion and analysis of the most noteworthy opinions of the Missouri Courts of Appeals and the Missouri Supreme Court handed down in 2017.

Presenting a discussion of the latest cases and statutes in the form of a "Family Law Update" to fellow members of the family law bar has been a firm tradition for many years, and the Update is presented 3-4 times each year to various bar groups in St. Louis and throughout the state of Missouri.
