A paternity suit is a lawsuit for relief filed under Missouri’s version of the Uniform Parentage Act, a statute providing for the legal determination that a parent-child relationship exists between an unwed father and the child conceived by the father and the child’s mother. These suits establish parenting plans and custodial rights for the parents, and determine their respective support obligations. We regularly represent fathers and mothers in paternity cases.
